Client Accused of Kidnap and Sexual Assault - NFA

Our client was under investigation for kidnap and sexual assault. From his account, it was clear that these allegations were false and he had video evidence to prove it. We provided thorough representations to the police and they dropped the case three days later.

FAQS

Frequently asked questions

Whether or not a person goes to prison, depends on several factors. Age, seriousness of the offence, the strength of the evidence, and any mitigation such as having no previous convictions, can all make a difference. Don’t forget that nobody can go to prison unless they are either convicted after a trial or plead guilty. An accusation is not enough on its own.

The police will provide something called 'disclosure'. This is often basic information summarising what the allegation is, but this does not include all of the evidence and they may even withhold information.

Like any other investigation, the police are entitled to seize your belongings if they are relevant to the case. Things such as phones, iPads and clothing may be relevant in a case like this. The police will be searching for anything which might assist them in trying to show you are guilty. Anything that is seized, we will ensure they are also looked at by a defence expert and that the police have done things properly.

You can always request a Duty Solicitor who will provide free and independent legal advice for the purpose of the interview.
